Police Advice with regard to cold callers

I am aware that there have been several 'cold callers' in the rural villages over the past week or so. Could I please advise that residents should not feel pressured to open the door to people that they are not expecting, and that no one should feel pressured into making purchases that they do not require. I would encourage people to ring the police should there be any suspicious persons in the villages or knocking on doors. Should there be any 'pushy' sales people reported I will, should we gain details of the people involved, make enquiries with the relevant agencies to advise of the selling techniques.

Any suspicious activity should be reported to Nottinghamshire Police and also any rural crime issues such as off-road vehicles / poaching offences should also be reported to Notts Police as we are bidding for extra resources to the area to combat these issues.

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself or PCSO John DALE
